The Uruguayan forward was punished by missing five matches.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has suspended the disqualification of Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez from the Uruguay national team. Journalist Rodrigo Romano reports this.

Apparently, five players from the Uruguay national team were previously suspended for fighting with Colombian fans. Nunez was later suspended for five matches.

However, CAS allowed the 25-year-old Uruguayan to take part in the final matches of the national team of Uruguay against Peru and Ecuador as part of the selection stage of the 2026 emergency situation.

It is also possible that Veresna Nunez has already missed two matches in five games against Paraguay and Venezuela.
