Real Sociedad has become another contender for the signature of central defender Mats Hummels, reports The Athletic.

The choice of the 35-year-old German for the upcoming club is not due to financial nutrition. Mats is trying to find a good place for his family, even though his son is already 6 years old and will soon be going to school.

Real Sociedad are looking for a center back after Robin Le Normand left Atletico for a maximum of 35 million euros.

Hummels previously represented Borussia (Dortmund), but last season they qualified for the Champions League final, where the Black and Whites lost to Real Madrid (Madrid). The German club has lost its rights as a free agent.
