Roman's contribution to the history of Ukrainian football.
The team of Ukraine in the 2nd round of Euro 2024 achieved an impressive victory over Slovakia (2:1).
The author of the winning goal was forward Roman Yaremchuk, finishing in the 80th season. Thus, the 28-year-old Ukrainian scored more goals at the European Championships, not even the other great player in the history of the national team of Ukraine - three goals, scoring two of them at the previous European Championship-20 20 at the gate of the collected Netherlands and Pivnichnaya Macedonia.
Yaremchuk outperformed the legendary Andriy Shevchenko, who scored two goals at home Euro 2012 against the goal of the Swedish national team, and Andriy Yarmolenko, who was nominated for Euro 2020.
It is significant that Roman Yaremchuk, for scoring goals at great tournaments in the history of the national team of Ukraine, goes to the unknown Andriy Shevchenko, who scored four goals (two at the 2006 ChS and two at the 2012 European Championships).
Previously, the head coach of the Blues, Sergei Rebrov, commented on the victory over Slovakina.
