Ajax is close to winning the title after appointing Nizzi's Kermanic Francesco Farioli as the new head coach, reports journalist Fabrizio Romano.
It appears that the 35-strong specialist has already rejected Nizzi and allowed him to leave. Farioli signed with Ajax for Dovgostrokov's favor.
Now the clubs will clarify the remaining details, so the Italian’s dismay at the new head coach of the Amsterdam team may soon come to an end.
Farioli celebrated Nice in Lipny 2023. Under his leadership, the team reached the quarterfinals of the French Cup, where they lost to PSG, and finished fifth in the Ligue 1 standings.
John van 't Schip, who became Ajax's manager at the end of 2023, will become a technical assistant at the club. From there, the team crashed out of the 1/8 finals of the Conference League, giving up Aston Villa, and finishing fifth in the Eredivisie standings.
