Martinez is the third player in the history of Inter to score 20+ goals in Serie A in three seasons

The Argentinean continues to demonstrate high performance.

Inter central striker Lautaro Martinez repeated the achievements of two legendary Nerazzurri players, reports OptaPaolo.

Goal at the gate of Salernitani in the first half of the match of the 25th round of Serie A, becoming the 20th tournament in the current season. The Argentine was able to score at least 20 goals for the Nerazzurri in the Italian Championship for the third time in a row.



According to OptaPaolo, this was previously given only to Giuseppe Meazzi and Istvan Njers. More importantly, the other scored 20+ goals for Inter in 4 seasons after (1948/49-1951/52), while the first - in as many as 5 (1929/30-1933/34).

The goal at the Salernitani goal also allowed the 26-year-old Martinez to overtake his teammate Mauro Icardi on the list of the highest scorers in the history of Inter. Now Lautaro has 125 goals for the Milanese club (7th place).
