The 34th Africa Cup of Nations will not take place in 2023, as it was agreed ahead of time.

CAF President Patrice Mocepe, having decided to change the date of the tournament for September 2024, reminds Gianluca Di Marzio.

The reasons for this decision are the world championship held in Qatar and the change in dates for the completion of the tournament. The functionary announced about this at a special press conference in Morocco.

“We don’t want to risk the quality of the matches, if there will be matches at the CAN, even if the players will need more than an hour to prepare. The new lines of the tournament will be voiced by us already without a break,"
