In the quarterfinals of the Italian Cup, in which Inter met in a head-to-head confrontation with Milan, the main referee of the meeting was replaced.

In the 80th minute, Paolo Valeri needed a replacement, as he received muscle damage and was unable to work out the fight until the final whistle.

It is worth noting that Milan with ten men failed to keep a draw and move the match into overtime, so Inter goes to the next stage of the Italian Cup (2: 1).
