Watford center-back Craig Dawson may pursue career at West Ham. Clubs are in advanced stage of player transfer negotiations, Sky Sports reports.

If Dawson leaves, Watford will try to sign Joe Bennett from Cardiff. Transfer window for domestic crossings in England is open until October 16.

Earlier West Ham wanted to bolster the center of defense with James Tarkovsky from Burnley, and among the alternatives were Shakhtar defender Nikolay Matvienko and Wesley Fofana from Saint-Etienne, who left for Leicester.

The Hammers also agreed on the transfer of Brentford's winger Said Benrahm - after Bournemouth rejected the offer for Joshua King.
