Rennes goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has become a Chelsea player, according to the official website of the English club.
Senegalese goalkeeper signs five-year contract with the Blues. The amount of the transfer, according to media reports, was about 25 million euros.
At the London club, the 28-year-old goal guard will fight for a spot in the squad with Kepa Arrisabalaga and Willie Caballero.
Mendy has been with Rennes since 2019, moving from Reims. As part of the “red-black” goalkeeper played 34 matches, conceding 32 goals.
Earlier it was reported that Chelsea is also interested in the signing of West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.
