Barcelona continues to negotiate with striker Lionel Messi on a new contract.
The Catalan club has agreed with the Argentine striker to extend the contract until 2023 in May, but now wants to revise the terms of the agreement. According to El Chiringuito, club president Josep Bartomeu told the football player about his desire to lower his salary, which caused him dissatisfaction.
The current contract of the striker with the club expires in 2021.
It was previously reported that Messi decided to leave Barcelona as a free agent.
This season, the 33-year-old player has played 38 fights in a blue garnet shirt, scoring 27 goals and making 24 assists.
