The Union of European Football Associations is considering the option of depriving the Netherlands of one place in European competition for next season. It is reported by AD.

According to the source, this is due to the early completion of football competitions in the country.

Triumphant of the Netherlands Cup was supposed to get into the Europa League, however, due to the cancellation of the tournament, Willem II, who occupies the fifth place in the championship standings, got a ticket to European cups.

It is argued that UEFA may disagree with the decision of the Royal Football Union of the Netherlands, thus depriving Willem II of participation in the Europa League in campaign 2020/21. Given this, in the next season, only four teams can represent the Eredivisi in the European arena.
