The Italian had knee surgery.

Defender Sassuolo Filippo Romagna retired for a long period due to health problems, the official website of the Italian club.

Italian centerback got a knee tendon rupture in a match with Brescia (3: 0) last Monday. The footballer has already had surgery and will miss about nine months.

Romagna moved to Sassuolo in September last year on loan from Cagliari. In the current season, the 22-year-old player has spent 18 fights in a black-green t-shirt.
