Defender Lech Vladimir Kostevich shared his impressions of his performance in the Polish championship and appreciated the chances of his team in the fight for the title.
“I would not say that Legia has a big margin from Lech, as this is the Polish championship and it’s very difficult to single out one team that will be the favorite in a particular match. Extra class is a very equal championship and teams often lose points in it, so I think that nothing has been lost and it is necessary to set the highest goals for ourselves, and then we'll see.
Why Lech has not won a champion title for a long time? Hard to tell. I remember my first season, the team started it under the leadership of Jan Urban, but after an unsuccessful series of fights he was fired, and Nenad Bielitsa replaced him. When I moved to Lech in the second part of the season, Bielitsa was in the club for a couple of months. We started very cool, won match after match and by the end of the season we had a chance to become champions, but, unfortunately, it didn’t work out. It is difficult to name a specific reason why this happened.. Before the next season, unfortunately, several of our leaders left the team - Jan Bednarek, David Kovnacki, Marchin Robak, Tomasz Kendzera and in exchange many new players arrived, but despite this we finished the main part of the championship in the first place, but unfortunately, we did not. But, I hope that someday I can become a champion.
Perhaps there is a difference between the championships of Poland and Ukraine because Polish teams have more stability. During the performances in the UPL, many teams had financial problems, as far as I know, some teams still have this problem. For example, in Hoverla, football players for ten months did not receive a salary..
A huge plus for the player and his club when you do not think about whether they will pay you money or not, and when you just do your job as best as possible and do not think about whether your team will disappear from the football card or not. In the Carpathians, the situation with the withdrawal of points pressed us, they didn’t know if we could sign new players. So, I think that there is a significant difference, "
