Head coach Stephen Gerrard is close to extending a contract with the Rangers, Sky Sports informs.

The English coach agreed on the terms of the new agreement with the Scottish club and should draw it up soon. New mentor contract with light blue will be calculated until 2024.

Gerrard led the Rangers in June 2018, succeeding Graham Murty. The current contract of the 39-year-old specialist with the club expires in 2022.

Currently, the Rangers are second in the Scottish Championships, two points behind the leading Celtic.
