This award is given to a footballer with previous professional experience, but who spends his first year in the MLS.
In 27 matches Ibrahimovic scored 22 goals and gave 10 assists, becoming the third player in the history of MLS, who managed to score 20 goals and give 10 assists in one season.
In the fight for this title, the 37-year-old Swede won 36.36% of the vote, beating Wayne Rooney (32.25%), Carlos Velu (13.47%) and others.
