Forward Napoli Dries Mertens hinted that he would leave the Italian club in 2020 as a free agent.

"You never know what will happen in the future. At the end of next season, my contract with Napoli ends, so maybe after that I will move to China, "said Mertens when asked about a possible move to the Celestial.

"I used to refuse such an opportunity, because I preferred to stay in Europe and develop. For some time I could not break into the foundation of Napoli, and when I succeeded, I wanted to enjoy this experience.. I worked very hard to become a starting lineup player, and didn’t want to leave ".

"I often speak with Witsel and Carrasco, and they speak well of Chinese football.

Carrasco told me that he was getting used to China, and his team was starting to gain more points. At first he did not know how to find himself in the team, but now he feels better.. Although Axel had already left, he said that he liked it ".

Mertens moved to Napoli from PSV in the summer of 2013 for 9.5 million euros. Since then, he has scored 98 goals in 249 matches for “parthenopey”.
