As Gazzetta dello Sport reported, the negotiations between the representatives of the former coach of the Italian national team and the leadership of the Japan Football Federation entered the final phase, and Donadoni already flew to the Land of the Rising Sun for the coordination of details.

55-year-old Donadoni, for his 17-year-old coaching career worked with Lecce, Livorno, Genoa, the Italian team, Napoli, Cagliari. Parma and Bologna, could become the second Italian at the helm of the Japanese national team after Alberto Zaccheroni (with the Japanese team became the champion of Asia in 2011).
