The 27-year-old midfielder was on display in Watford this summer, but failed to earn a contract with "hornets".
Rodwell won the Premier League during his two-year campaign for Man City, and in 2014 moved to Sunderland. Because of injuries, he played only 76 matches during this period.
Jack received 73 thousand pounds a week in Sunderland, but after flying to the club in League 1 (third division), this figure was reduced to 44 thousand. His contract was terminated by mutual consent in June.
