Manager Liverpool Jurgen Klopp joked from the reminder that two years ago he was not going to pay a huge amount for one player.

When Paul Pogba moved from Juventus to Manchester United in 2016, Klopp said he would not have spent 100 million euros on a single player.

Since then, the "reds" have allowed themselves transfers of this scale. So, this winter they bought the most expensive defender in the world - Virgil van Dijk from Southampton for 78 million euros. In summer, the most expensive goalkeeper of the world joined Liverpool - for Alisson the club gave 62.5 million euros, and taking into account the bonuses this amount can grow to 75.

Clopp was reminded of a statement of two years ago.

"That's the problem," Clopp replied with a smile..

"Everyone remembers every nonsense you uttered! I could not imagine that the market would go this way. But our owners believe in the project! ".

Earlier, Jurgen said that the club will no longer buy anyone this summer. The composition of the "red" except Alisson joined the midfielders Fabigno, Nabi Keita and Dzherdan Shakiri.
