The main arbiter of the finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup between the teams of France and Croatia will be Argentine Nestor Pitan.
"It's a great honor for me to be elected as the referee of the finals! Good luck to both teams, I will do my best!" - Pitana wrote on Twitter.
On the current Mundiale Pitana judged four matches - Russia 5:
0 Saudi Arabia, Mexico 0-3 Sweden (both group stage), Croatia 1: 1 Denmark (4: 3 on penalties, 1/8 finals) and Uruguay 0: 2 France (quarter-final).
His assistants will be two more Argentines - Hernan Maidana and Juan Pablo Belatti. The role of the reserve referee went to the Dutchman Bjorn Kuipers, and his compatriot Erwin Zeynstra will be the backup assistant.
Final of the 2018 World Cup between the teams of France and Croatia will be held on July 15. Beginning of the meeting at 18:00 Kyiv time.
