Honda completed his career in the national team of Japan

Japanese midfielder Keisuke Honda decided to stop playing for the national team.

Japan at the beginning of the second half led 2-0 in the 1/8 finals match of the 2018 World Cup against Belgium, but then missed three goals and left the tournament.

"I'm finishing my career in the national team," said Honda after the game.

"I'm happy, because we have a lot of good young players. Now it's their turn to write the history of Japanese football ".

Keisuke made his debut for the "blue samurai" in 2008. In 98 games for the national team, he scored 37 goals.

At the current mundiale Honda was able to become the most productive Asian in the history of world championships.

Now the 32-year-old Honda stands for the Mexican Pachuca.
