Clubs of the Ukrainian Premier League want to return Chernomorets to the elite football division of the country.
Following the results of the last season FC Poltava achieved the right to play in the Ukrainian Premier League, but eventually the club management first sent a letter about the withdrawal from the competition, and then decided to dissolve the team.
According to the official site of the UPL, the clubs of the elite football division of the country unanimously voted for the proposal to the FFU Executive Committee to include Chernomorets in the ULP, while at the same time casting votes for the exception of Poltava.
Two candidates were casted for voting - FC Zirka (Kropiwnicki), who took 10th place in the championship of Ukraine on the basis of the last season, and FC Chernomorets (Odessa), who lost in the playoff games to the same Poltava.
Also considered was the candidate who took the 4th place in the First League Ingulza, but this club could not fulfill one of the necessary requirements - to form U-19 and U-21 teams for participation in competitions of youth groups.
The Phoenix (Bucha), which is the assignee of Stali from Kamensky, also wanted to take a place in the ULP, but this club did not pass the certification.
Thus, if the FFU Executive Committee supports the proposal of the ULP clubs, Chernomorets will return to the elite of Ukrainian football.
