No Belgian player could score more than three goals in one final World Cup tournament.

Having formed a double in the second match of the 2018 World Cup in a row (in matches against Panama and Tunisia), Romel Lukaku set a record for the national team of Belgium in the number of balls scored by one player at one World Cup.

In addition, Lukaku became the first football player after Diego Maradona in 1986, who managed to score more than one goal in two consecutive matches of the final tournament of the World Cup.

In total, except for Lukaku and Maradona, similar previously managed only to such legendary players as Pele, Garrincha, Eusebiu, Gerd Muller, Mario Kempes and Gary Lineker.
