Head coach of the Spanish national team Hulen Lopetega hanging literally in the balance, but for him stood up the players.

The Football Federation of Spain announced this morning a special press conference, urgently convened in Krasnodar because of yesterday's statement regarding Lopetega's departure to Real Madrid.

Until the last minute, the situation was towards the dismissal of the coach the day before the start of the tournament, but eventually Lopetegi left.

Radio Marca reports that the president of the federation Luis Rubiales was ready to dismiss the coach, but at the very last moment his decision was influenced by the players of the national team.

It is reported that the players "advised" the president to swallow pride and allow the team to play football.

In the next few minutes the press conference will be welcomed by Sergio Ramos and Andres Iniesta.
