Lawyers Cristiano Ronaldo, trying to save his client from the prison term for tax evasion, made significant progress in negotiations with the Spanish tax authorities.

The leader of Real Madrid owed the state 14.8 million euros of unpaid taxes for the use of image rights. At first, he denied all charges, but then agreed to pay 14 million to not bring cases to trial. However, representatives of Ronaldo were refused from the Spanish tax.

The tax authorities put forward their conditions:

admission of guilt for four cases of tax evasion, disclosure of "schemes" for which he was paid for the use of image rights and a larger amount of fine. As the AS reports with reference to El Confidencial, the principle agreement on all the requirements has already been reached, it remains to disassemble the details and determine the amount of the fine. Representatives of the footballer assume that it will be from 18 to 20 million euros.
