The Australian government will boycott the World Cup.

The official delegation of Australia will not go to the World Cup in Russia to Russia. Only the ambassador will support the national team. This is reported by ESPN.

Australian Foreign Minister Julie Bishop said that the diplomatic boycott has nothing to do with the players and personnel of the national team.

Earlier it was reported that diplomats from Great Britain and Iceland would not attend the 2018 World Cup.

The Football World Cup in Russia will be held from 14 June to 15 July 2018.
