Defender James Collins leaves West Ham and the farewell for sure turned out different from what the player and fans represented him.
The 34-year-old Welshman, who is popular with fans of West Ham, learned about his parting with the club by e-mail, says talkSPORT.
James spent 11 years in the club with a break of three years at Aston Villa. For West Ham, he played more than 200 matches.
Collins was in tears after the last game of the season for West Ham against Everton (3-1).
A representative of the club in the talkSPORT comment stated that the club notified James about a possible non-renewal of the contract, and the e-mail was just a confirmation.
