Goalkeeper Manchester United David De Gea was voted the best player of the year in his club and manager of the "red devils" Jose Mourinho surprised that goalkeepers do not receive individual awards in the global arena.
"It's amazing that goalkeepers never get major international awards, because they are the fundamental players for their teams," said Mourinho.
"David De Gea is a very good season at the club level, he is very consistent and made several cult, beautiful, fantastic saves".
In the current season De Gea spent 43 matches for Manchester United in all tournaments, in which he missed 33 goals and kept his goal "dry" 21 times.
