The leadership of Schalke removed midfielder Max Meyer from working with the first team until the end of the season.

Max Mayer will leave Schalke next summer as a free agent, but his last match for the "Cobalt" midfielder has already played.

According to the official website of the German club, 22-year-old Mayer was suspended from work with the first team until the end of the season. The reason for this was an unauthorized interview with Bild, in which Max criticized sports director Christian Heidel.

In addition, the midfielder said that before the start of this season, head coach Domenico Tedesco allegedly told him not to hope that he will receive a lot of playing time.

"It seemed to me that Max feels at home here. At least, he said this to the coaching staff, so I do not understand what motivated his attacks and disappointed with them, "Tedesco said..

In the current season, Mayer played in 28 of 37 possible matches for Schalke, in which scored one goal.
