Ex-coach of the Belgium team Mark Vilmots in his interview with beIN Sports said that Courtois and his father were selling information about the composition of the team during the Euro-2016. The trainer was allegedly told about this by French journalists.

Courtois in social networks announced that he is suing because of slander.

"Vilmots - and this is not the first time - publicly and maliciously put forward statements that hurt the dignity and reputation - mine and my father. Together we decided to file a statement of claim because of this slander, "- wrote Courtois.

Vilmots was dismissed from the post of coach of the Belgian national team after losing to the quarter-finals of Euro-2016 from Wales.

The relationship between him and Courtois deteriorated when Thibault after the defeat in the group stage from Italy said that the "scuadra of the adzurra" defeated the Belgians tactically.

After Belgium, Vilmots headed in Cote d'Ivoire in 2017, but left the team after failing to bring her to the World Cup.

The salary of Thibaut Courtois in Chelsea is estimated at about 5 million pounds per year.
