Chelsea defender Ethan Ampad was forced to leave the field ahead of time in the UEFA Youth League match against Real Madrid, which ended in a 4-2 win by the Blues.

The 17-year-old Welshman underwent a medical examination that revealed an ankle fracture. This means that Ampad will miss not only the closest friendly matches of the Wales team, but will no longer appear on the field this season.

In the current campaign, Ampad held seven matches for the first Chelsea team in all tournaments, four of which in the starting lineup.
