Paris Saint-Germain confirmed that their striker Neimaru will need surgical intervention.

Neimar suffered an ankle injury in the championship match of France against Marseille, but it was originally expected that the Brazilian will recover already to the return match of the 1/8 finals of the Champions League against Real Madrid.

Further medical tests revealed Neimar also a crack in the metatarsal bone, nevertheless, the Paris club still hoped that the player would not need surgery, while the player's father insisted on the opposite.

According to the official website of PSG, Neimar will still be operated at the end of this week in Brazil.

The timing of the restoration is not specified yet, but previously the media informed that the Brazilian will return to the field not earlier than two months later.
