World Cup 2026 can be held in Africa.

In Morocco, a special press conference was held, at which it was announced that the country will be a candidate for the World Cup in 2026.

The chairman of the committee on the application, Moulay Hafid Elalami, stressed that "Maroko is not a beginner, but a real candidate. We are going to give ourselves completely to this idea. Our application will be impeccable ".

Recall that the competitors of Morocco to host the FM-2026 will be a three-way application from the US, Canada and Mexico. The head of the federation of Moroccan football Fuzi Lequia expressed the hope that Morocco will become a "candidate from the whole continent".

"For 100 years of world championships, this tournament was held in Africa only once - in 2010 in South Africa" ??- said Lekia.

The Committee for the application of Morocco enlisted the support of the legendary African football players - Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto'O. They will promote the country's application.

Note that the owner of the World Cup in 2026 will be named FIFA this year - June 13. Then there will be a vote of 211 national federations at the congress in Moscow.
