In honor of his return to the "Royal Club" in 2009, the President of Madrid Florentino Perez started a high-profile transfer campaign, which to this day is a record for "Blancos".

Then in Real Madrid came just five star players - Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, Karim Benzema, Xabi Alonso and Alvaro Arbeloa. The total cost of transfers was 257.4 million euros, and until recently was the largest in the history of Spanish football.

Nevertheless, this season, this record surpassed Barcelona, ??which has already spent 312.5 million euros on new players. The Catalans acquired Uthman Dembele, Paulinho, Nelson Semed and Philippe Coutinho.

Earlier it was reported that Real Madrid intends to sign Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Salah.
