Head coach of the Northern Ireland Michael O'Neill commented on his team's fight against Switzerland.

In the second leg of the second leg at the 2018 World Cup, Northern Ireland played a goalless draw with Switzerland (0: 0), losing two games with a score of 0: 1.

Despite the fact that the team O'Neill could not get through to the World Cup, the coach has no claims to any of his players.

"I feel that today we were better. Yes, at times we were unlucky, but we fought for the exit to the World Cup until the very end of the whistle ".

"Players could not give more. The way they sacrificed themselves for my sake, for each other's sake and for my country, is phenomenal ".

"Now is not the time to talk about whether I will continue to work with the national team of Ireland. All my thoughts in the locker room with my players, "- quotes O'Neill Sky Sports.

Thus, the decisive in the confrontation between Switzerland and Northern Ireland was a penalty kick from Ricardo Rodriguez.
