Milan's head coach Vincenzo Montella denied the words of Mino Rayola that he had promised the status of captain to the young goalkeeper.

New contract Donnarumma with Milan was a real scandal, but the parties still agreed on a four-year agreement.

Previously, agent goalkeeper Mino Rayola said that the "Rosso Neri" promised Gianluigi captain's armband, but eventually gave this role to the club's newcomer defender Leonardo Bonucci.

"The management of the club never asked me to give the captain's bandage to Gigi," Vincenzo Montella said. "Moreover, no one has ever promised such a person or his entourage".

"Maybe he was told that eventually he will become the captain of this great club, but that's another story," added Milan head coach.
