In the last round of the regular MLS championship Kaka earned a straight red card.

"In the last minutes of Saturday's match between Orlando City and New York Red Bulls on the Red Bull Arena Kaka got a straight red card for a joke with his former club mate Orelen Collin," begins the club's statement.

"Immediately after the video replay of the episode, several players Orlando City and Collin tried to explain to the referee that the situation was friendly".

"After careful consideration and discussions of the global attention of the fans and the media that attracted this episode, the club decided to take the decision of the video assistant of the arbitrator, the Organization of Professional Referees and MLS, in order to avoid further undesirable consequences that might lead to an appeal".

"And although FC Orlando City fully supports the above organizations, the club does not share the view that Kaka is a role model for the world, given his excellent character and character - guilty of violent behavior, defined as an attempt to use brute force against an opponent in a non-player situation. Moreover, we do not believe that he deliberately beat the opponent or anyone else during the match ".

"Kaka for all his incredible club career received only 2 red cards, both of them - in the MLS. The captain will take a one-match disqualification and help our team to focus on the next task - the first home game of "lions" against the strong rival from the Eastern Conference - FC Columbus Crewe ".

Return to the field Kaka will be able on August 27 in a game against Vancouver Whitecaps. After 24 games played, Orlando takes 8th place in the Eastern Conference, falling behind the playoff zone by 5 points.
