The new La Girion League will soon be managed by City Football Group.

Holding City Football Group is close to completing the acquisition of Girona, reports Expansion.

In the summer of 2015, the agency Media Base Sports, led by Per Guardiola, the brother of the current mentor Gorozhan, acquired 80 percent of Girona and helped the club get rid of debts of 3.5 million euros.

Part of this deal was an arrangement under which the City Football Group will acquire the club when Girona leaves for La Liga.

Now the parties are working on an official deal that will allow Girona to join the City Football Group, which already includes Manchester City (England), New York City (USA), Melbourne City (Australia), Yokohama F. Marinos (Japan) and Atletico Torquay (Uruguay).

This will allow Girona to increase its budget fivefold - to 50 million euros. Manchester City will work closely with the Catalan club, and use them to develop young players.
