Mourinho responded to charges of non-payment of taxes

Manager Manchester United Jose Mourinho reacted to accusations of the Spanish prosecutor's office in non-payment of taxes.

The Spanish prosecutor's office accused the former coach of Real Madrid Jose Mourinho of tax evasion for the amount of 3.3 million euros.

Nevertheless, Mourinho, denying his guilt, issued an official statement.

"Jose Mourinho did not receive any notifications regarding the news published today. At the moment neither the Spanish tax authorities nor the prosecutor contacted Jose Mourinho or his advisers who were hired for the inspection process, "reads the statement.



"Jose Mourinho, who lived in Spain from June 2010 to May 2013, paid more than 26 million euros of tax, with an average tax rate of more than 41%, and accepted the proposal for a regularization made by the Spanish tax authorities in 2015 for 2011 and 2012 Years, and takie concluded a settlement agreement in 2013 ".

"In turn, the Spanish government, through the Tax Department, issued a certificate in which it confirmed that it had settled its situation and observed all of its tax obligations".
