Andriy Shevchenko commented on the upcoming match with Finland and told about the losses of the national team.
Before the match selection for the 2018 World Cup between national teams of Finland and Ukraine, Andriy Shevchenko gave a pre-match press conference at which the head coach answered questions from journalists.
"The team was fine, we had a good collection. The only problem we have at the moment is Petryak, who fell out of the game due to toothache. He was treated, but, most likely, he will not be ready for tomorrow's match, "- said Shevchenko.
The coach of the Ukrainian national team commented on the absence of one of the key performers of the Finns - Roman Eremenko.
"He received a lengthy disqualification, both the team and the coach know about this. Indeed, this is the leading player of the team, but I do not think that this will play a big role as a result of tomorrow's confrontation. This is the difficulty of working as a coach of the national team. For some reasons, some strong performers can not take part in matches - because of cards or medical problems, "- said Shevchenko.
"We treat with respect to the team of Finland. Like all the teams that are in our group. For the Finns this is a matter of prestige, after all they play at home, so they will try to play well. Over them there is no pressure in the standings. We have very different goals. We came here for victory. All the guys are tuned for this, so it's important for us to hold a good match and win it ".
"I think everyone learned a lesson from the match with Malta.
In order to win from the teams, it is necessary to make certain efforts - to connect the speed, to fight, to play on the class. Without a mood, it's impossible to win today. We disassembled this game, looked at our mistakes. The main thing that the guys realized that tomorrow we are waiting for a heavy game in which we need a result ".
Match Finland - Ukraine will be held tomorrow, June 11, as part of the 6th round selection at the 2018 World Cup, the beginning of the match at 19:00. Let's note that after 5 rounds Ukraine occupies the third place in group I.
