Olympiakos appointed head coach Besnik Hashi, with whom he signed a contract for two years.

Albanian specialist Besnik Hashi replaced Takis Lemonis as coach of 44-time champion of Greece - Olympiakos.

"I'm happy to lead such an eminent club like Olympiakos," said 45-year-old Hashi. - I met twice with my current team when I headed Anderlecht, and even then I felt an incredible aura that surrounds this club. Olympiakos is worthy to play regularly in the group round of the Champions League, and it is the overcoming of the qualifying barriers of the main tournament of Europe will be our first task ".

Besnik Hashi, who in his time played 47 matches for the Albanian national team, spent most of his playing career in Belgium, where he played for Genk, Lokeren, Cercle Brugge and Anderlecht. It was in the Brussels club that he began his coaching career, having worked for six years as an assistant to the main mentor, and from 2014 to 2016 he himself took up this post. In the summer of 2016, Hashi led Lehi, who led to the group stage of the Champions League, but was dismissed in September for unsatisfactory results in the Polish championship.
