The leadership of FC Desna issued a statement about the possible inadmissibility of the club to participate in the next season of the ULP, warning that in that case there is no reason to continue investing in its development.

Desna took second place in the First League, which gives the right to increase in the class. However, everything goes to the fact that the Chernigovites will not be allowed to participate in the ULP because of problems with the infrastructure of the club. It is expected that the place of the Desna will take Veres from Rivne, which also had problems with infrastructure and will not be able to hold fights in its native city.

"On Saturday, May 27, at the Obolon-Arena stadium Desna played a draw with Obolon-Brovar and for the run-up to the finish of the championship of the First League guaranteed a second place, which gave the right to a direct ticket to the ULL. Apparently, we should not remind what it means for our region - Chernihiv region was never represented in the elite division. And it was this year that the long-term dream became a reality - the team led by Alexander Ryabokon almost ideally passed the tournament distance, never losing in 2017, while defeating its main competitor - Rovensky Veres - in his field.

For several days the whole Chernigov region has been talking about the participation of the Desna in the ULL. Even people who have little interest in football are already asked when Dynamo and Shakhtar will come to Chernigov. There is no doubt that the Desna matches in Chernigov will have sold out, the team has been waiting for a long time in their own stadium. But will the dream come true for many years?.

Tomorrow, on June 2, at 12:00 in the conference hall of the Intercontinental Hotel, FFU representatives will announce the composition of the Premier League participants. Unfortunately, there were rumors that the FFU decided to take away from the Desna the right to participate in the ULP, and to admit Rovno Veres. You ask, on what grounds, and it will be logical, but the answer is, you are unlikely to get.

What is the main criterion for increasing in the classroom? The answer is obvious - the sports principle. And here there can not be other options. With her game Desna deserved to participate in the ULL, and this despite the fact that the team had not played a single match at their own stadium, in fact, having spent the entire season on the road. Desna in the internal opposition beat Veres and Ilyichevets, became the best team in 2017 in the First League and will not be able to rise in the class?.

The next argument is infrastructure. Given the current situation in the country, it is not surprising that football is a difficult period - that the state, investors, owners - all reduced the cost of football clubs. And the Dnipro - a vivid example: in two years the club has made a way from the finalist of the League of Europe to the disappearance from the football map of the country.

Stadium named after Gagarin belongs to the state, and despite this, Desna is reconstructing the stadium. Is there another such club in Ukraine that builds the state stadium by its own means?.

Desna, which by sporting principle deserved the right to increase in the class and leads its infrastructure in accordance with the requirements of the elite division, will again remain in the First League, while Veres, who lost to the northerners in all respects and has no infrastructure, will play in the ULP? There is a logical question - what is the sense of investing in the development of the club, if the sports principle is completely forgotten and the winner is determined not in the football fields, but in the offices?.

Desna does not receive assistance from the country's budget and is 100% financed by the owners, so if the officials of the Ukrainian Football Federation do not win "common sense" and Chernigov leave without big football, to which the team, club, city and the whole region really deserve, then We see no point in further funding the club.

We understand that this is a big blow for our fans, they definitely deserve professional football in the region, and given the circumstances, we are sure that our fans will sympathize with the situation. If the club is systematically developed, for the first time in the history of Chernigov region, to withdraw it to the highest division and not play there because of the actions of officials, then the normal further development of the club is simply impossible ".
