Raise the club from the third division called Paul Cook.

Ex-player Wigan Athletic Paul Cook returns to the club already in the role of head coach.

The 50-year-old specialist acted as part of Wigan back in the 80's, having spent 83 games in four seasons in the team. Later, in the 2001/02 season, he spent 6 matches for the club being on loan.

For the last two seasons, Cook led Portsmouth, who failed to win the Ligi 2 play-offs in the 2015/16 season, but managed to win in the fourth division in the last championship.

Wigan's official website reports that a few days ago the club's management agreed with colleagues from Portsmouth, after which it agreed a three-year contract with Cook himself.

Note that Wigan last year under the leadership of Warren Joyce took the penultimate place in the Championships and the season 2017/18 will be held in League 1.
