Legendary ex-captain of Milan and the Italian team Paolo Maldini will be appointed manager of the Azuarra Squadron.

Paolo Maldini will be appointed manager of the Italian national team, replacing Lelo Oriali in this position, who decided to accept Inter's proposal to join the club's board of directors.

In charge of the manager of the Azuarra Squadra is to serve as a link between the players and the leadership of the national team.

Since the moment when Maldini decided to hang his boots on a nail in 2009, the legendary ex-captain of Milan and the Italian national team was not associated with football, although in the same 2009 Carlo Ancelotti, who headed Chelsea, offered him the place of his assistant. And in 2015 Maldini was invited to the newly created FC Miami, serving in the North American League of Soccer.
