"Moreover, they gave me the opportunity to re-build my reputation after what happened to the England team. I felt that I needed another attempt at the Premier League club, I wanted to achieve something. Palas gave me a chance to rehabilitate myself. That's why it's so difficult for me to leave now ".

"I believe that the club is moving in the right direction with full support from the board of directors, excellent players and some of the most passionate fans that I've seen. It has been an honor for me to work here for the last five months ".

"But there comes a time when you need to decide in which direction you want to move with your life - and this decision was given to me simply. I want to enjoy life while I'm still relatively young and relatively healthy in order to engage in interesting things like traveling. I want to spend more time with my family and grandchildren, without experiencing the enormous pressure that comes on the managers of ".

"This is the right time for me. I'm not going to take on another job, I just want to enjoy everything that can not be enjoyed when you work 24 hours a day and 7 days a week in any football club, not to mention the Premier League club ".

"Steve Parish behaved very dignified during our conversation today. I know that my decision shocked him, but we dispersed peacefully and without mutual accusations. It's not about transfer policy, finance or something like that.

I just make a decision that I think is right for myself and my family ".

"I want to thank everyone for the words of support. I have no doubt that I will miss the coaching work, but I accept this decision without any regrets ".
