"Bench", Yarmolenko and psychology: three reasons why Shakhtar will win the Cup of Ukraine

Alexander Ozirny explains why Shakhtar will become the owner of the Ukrainian Cup today.

The depth of the bench and the great variability of the composition In the last round, we all perfectly saw what the two teams are standing when the doubles come on the field. The miner confidently coped with Chernomorets, and Dynamo lost to Olympique. Of course, Shakhtar's bench, even with Fred's disqualification, is much longer and, in general, better.

The same Srna on the flank is easily replaced Butko, and who will play the right lateral instead of Morozyuk, in which case? In the center of defense, Shakhtar has four practically equal players: Kucher, Krivtsov, Ordets, Rakytsky, and the game of Tsentrbek Dynamo (except for Species) can cause unless a panic attack - Kadar and Pantich do not look like a monolith, let alone guys like Burda or Ochigawa. There would be Khacheridi, it would be calmer, and, in the end, this is an opportunity to play in four defenders with a couple in the center - Vida-Hacheridi. But Zhenya is not ... On the left flank of Shakhtar Ismaili, who is now in the prime of life and at the peak of receiving compliments, and Dinamo Antunes, whose game just stopped calling ugly. However, she has not become good either.

Shakhtar has a well-played and easily interchangeable troika of Brazilians: Tyson, Bernard and Marlos, who are supported by the genius of Stepanenko's selection in the form of a foundation, and the two-headed Kovalenko, whose heat map simply does not have dark places. And the Dynamo young Shepelev, unstable Sidorchuk and Garmash (and maybe Rybalka - Rebrov has not yet decided clearly who is the main one).

Shakhtar's competition pushed Blanco-Lescuca and Ferreira to score in every match, fighting for a place in the base, and Dinamo Besedin clearly broke ahead, competing with Yaremchuk. That is, in the course of the game it will not be replaced by anyone, if the game does not go to Artem. As in many other positions, Dynamo simply does not have worthy alternatives to the main players - now Rebrov can not strengthen the game even in the course of the match, not to mention the tournament distance.

One Case Study. In the last match with Shakhtar, when Dynamo lost, Rebrov released on the field 19-year-old Tsygankov (the only one who could strengthen the game in the attack), the defensive midfielder (Fishing) and the central defender without the experience of playing at a high level (Ochigava).

Dependence of Dynamo from Andrei Yarmolenko After switching to a new game scheme and changing the position of Yarmolenko in this regard, Dynamo's game from his leader began to depend even more. Andrew plays brighter than before, more scores, gives, and generally more often meets with the ball. But in this case it's rather a factor that makes Dynamo game less predictable. Playing on the flank, Yarmolenko did not have such a big impact on the game of Kiev in connection with the smaller field for activities, even considering that he acted not as a typical flank hav, but in the semi-flank and spent a lot of time closer to the center. Now Yarmolenko plays, in fact, a free artist, which "made" his qualitative leap recently. At the same time, if Shakhtar manages to neutralize Andrei (and Stepanenko plus Kovalenko will be engaged in this first of all), the Dynamo game can appear as toothless as in the last meeting between these clubs. For Dynamo it is fundamentally important what Yarmolenko on the field "good" or "bad".

Shakhtar, unlike Dynamo, does not have such a binding to specific players. Yes, Srna, Rakitsky, Ismaili, Stepanenko, Tyson - may play a more significant role in the team, but the replacement of any of them will not be felt as the absence of Yarmolenko.

But there is an opportunity for Rebrov to tactically re-create his colleague. Since Fonseca certainly expects Yarmolenko in the center and prepares his team for this, Rebrov could bring Yarmolenko back on the flank and play with four defenders. For Dynamo to return to the old scheme from the point of view of teamwork, nothing would have been worth it, but it would have seriously confused the cards for the Miners. Not to mention the fact that in the course of the game one could again change the scheme. In short, the change in tactics before and during the match - all as bequeathed by Valery Lobanovsky.

Psychological emancipation Shakhtar is already a champion - the team has an easy and festive atmosphere - the main trophy won. For Dynamo, the same victory in the cup - a chance to somehow fix the disastrous season. This context also predetermines the behavior of the teams on the field. Miner, who, even after losing, can present it as a "gift to an opponent from a lordly shoulder" (such as "on, do not cry"), will play for fun. Dynamo will go on the field to die for the result, as promised by Andrei Yarmolenko.

These are the situations where one needs "blood from the nose," while others do not particularly care about the result, are for some reason perceived by the public as the reason for the victory of those who need. In fact, it often happens that a relaxed team playing without pressure gets a bigger profit from this than a team screwed and clamped in the grip of having to get a positive result.
