This year, 20 years have passed since the victory of Schalke in the UEFA Cup.

In the final of the UEFA Cup in 1996/1997, Schalke met with Inter. This was the last draw of the tournament, in which the final consisted of two matches. In the first, the Germans won 1-0, in the second - lost with the same score, but in the penalty shootout were ruthless - 4: 1. This success was the greatest in the European history of Schalke.

Fans of Schalke decided to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the triumph in the match against Hamburg (1: 1). The whole stadium took part in the performance:

7 blocks of flags were placed throughout the arena (the number of Schalke's opponents in that draw).

In addition, above the tribune ultras placed a three-dimensional replica of the trophy. The total cost of the performance was 120 thousand euros. It is reported that it was performed solely on the money of the fans, without raising funds from the club or sponsors. At the same time, all works on the organization of the spectacle - exclusively on a voluntary basis.
