Saint-Etienne officially confirmed the parting with his head coach Christoph Galte at the end of the current season.

"It was an honor for me to train Saint-Etienne for more than seven years. I'm grateful to the club, which helped me improve in the coaching profession, "- said Galte.

At the moment, Gal'tier has been the longest trainer in League 1, heading St.

Etienne back in December 2009, when he saved the team from flying to League 2. In his first full season, he helped St. Etienne finish in the 10th position, and also led the Greens to the Europa League in each of the last four seasons.

Under his leadership, Saint-Etienne also won the League Cup in 2013, which was the club's first trophy for 32 years.

Nevertheless, this season they will not be able to break into the European Cups, and Galtier will leave the club one year before the end of his current contract.
