UEFA has announced that it will take into account the observance of human rights, choosing between Germany and Turkey as the venue for Euro-2024.

The host country must respect certain criteria, including respect for human rights. The choice will be made in September 2018, and the desire to host the tournament has so far only two countries.

"The protection of human rights and labor rights is of paramount importance for UEFA," said Alexander Cheferin, President of UEFA.

"Since then, applicants for holding our tournaments and finals will need to adhere to these requirements," added Cheferin.

Turkey has already tried three times to get the right to hold the Euro, but all attempts ended unsuccessfully.

It should be noted that Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan won a referendum on expanding his powers.
