The once successful goalkeeper Flamengo Bruno Fernandez landed in jail in 2010, after receiving 22 years in prison. The reason for such a long period was the brutal murder of his girlfriend. During the investigation, the player confirmed that he was in cahoots with the company of young people who killed Eliza Samudo, later fed her dismembered body to dogs, but her direct involvement in the crime denied.
As a result, Fernandez served only seven years, and in March, by decision of the court was released, trying to continue his football career. 32-year-old goalkeeper signed a contract with the club of the second division of Brazil Boa Esporte, but faced with protests from fans and sponsors of the team, because of what again remained without work.
In addition, for a long time to enjoy the freedom of Bruno did not have to, since the Brazilian prosecutor's office revealed new facts in the investigation, and by a court decision he was returned behind bars. Now Fernandez will have to serve the remainder of the 22-year term of imprisonment, and this is another 15 years in prison.
Before the ill-fated incident, Bruno was considered one of the country's best goalkeepers, and was to take part in the 2014 World Cup.
According to the Prosecutor's Office, Fernandez killed his ex-girlfriend in order to avoid paying alimony for their common child.
